Breguet Tradition Fusee Tourbillon - 22 January 2010

A key component of movement precision, the balance spring has benefited from a lot of research and experimentation over the years, with Breguet leading the way. Since the introduction of the ‘Breget overcoil’ in 1795, the company has experimented with glass springs, gold springs and in 2006, Breget introduced its first wristwatches with silicon balance spring and escapement. The next step was to turn out silicon balance springs featuring the celebrated ‘Breguet’ terminal curve – no mean exploit. But now the new Breguet silicon balance spring is featured in the Breguet Tradition 7047 model with tourbillon and fusee-and-chain transmission. Displaying impressive technical sophistication, this 41mm diameter case timepiece houses the Cal. 569 movement and is the pride of Manufacture Breguet.
