About this issue
Maybe it’s because the Cannes film festival was in full swing when we were working on it, but the eagle-eyed may spot some CINEMATIC references in the pages of this new issue. The playful colour palette of a classic Jacques Tati film is present in our Panerai cover story, and the choreography of superstar Holly Blakey gives new meaning to the phrase ‘moving images’ in our second cover story. The latter stars regular Blakey dancer, Violet, in a gestural tribute to the high jewellery, and NNATE FEMINISM,of the house of Chanel. In the same spirit, our picks of the season’s watches and jewellery possess a certain FLAIR FOR DRAMA: with ultra-modern timepieces teamed with ultra-glamorous accessories, this summer is all about BEING COMFORTABLE WITH HIGH CONTRASTS. For our horological spotlights, we’re drawing focus on the new directions that genuinely excite us, from PATRICK PRUNIAUX’S EVOLVING VISION FOR ULYSSE NARDIN, and the distinctive Maestro collection from Gerald Charles. For us, they’re THE ONES TO WATCH as we prepare to go back to school in the autumn. But first: SUMMER!
There’s a surprise in one of our Summer 2025 covers, titled “Electric Feel”: the iconic luminous Panerai watch face glows when you view the print edition in the dark.
